Who doesn't like cake?

Well, I love cake, why does it have to be so good and get right away on your hips! Not fare.
I made these cakes and cobbler the other day. An

apple cake, german cheesecake and a berry and rhubarb cobbler. Doesn't it look delicious, let me tell you, it was!
The cheesecake is my Mom's recipe and it is made with Quark not with cream cheese,a milk product, which I am lucky to buy here in one of my local supermarkets. It is not cheap, but I guess that is the price you pay for imported items. Let me tell you it is worth the money, because it makes the best cheesecake.

More creations!

I love making tags. I have been folding, stamping, coloring with inks and chalks,

embossing for weeks now and my fingers are getting sore, have to wrap them up with bandaids. But when they are all finished and packaged up, I feel good. Still have so many things to finish, oh well that is life, my brain is overloading.

In my last blog I mentioned I am kind of sealing the chalks with glitter glue, I like giving a bit of sparkle to the project. The glitter glue I use and I love, love, love, you see me saying 3 times love, yes, I do, because this is the best glitter glue I have ever used. You can purchase this at Michaels and the bottle is only $1.00, a dollar well spent on a great product, for me anyway. The glitter glue is from studio g and it comes in all kinds of wonderful colors. When you apply it to your project, you do not have to worry that it is rubbing off and leave glitter all over the place. A little bit goes a long way. The tags with the litte angels, I glittered with some beautiful blue and the little wings are glittered with pale yellow, the mouse tags in the carrot suit was chalked before and then I went over with a green glitter for the greenery tail and the carrot suit was glittered with a pale orange.
Give it a try!

Dolls, Dolls and more Dolls!

It has been a while since I posted, have been busy with all sorts of things, preparing for my shows, which are coming up fast. We had our monthly doll club meeting last week and we did something totally different this time. We had the room where we meet for 2 days, Saturday and Sunday, so we thought it would be nice to display all our dolls, which our doll club members and myself made in the past and have the public come and see what it is about doll making and get their hands on making a pin doll. Saturday we had many other members from different doll clubs around the area and Eleonor Peace Bailey was there and did a little talk and demonstration on what she is working on at the moment and new ideas for getting different techniques incorporated into the doll making. A few of us also demonstrated different things, which we thought might be interesting to show, how to put a doll together, face painting, making artists trading cards from fabric, needle felting, card making and other helpful hints. It was fun and I do hope we will do this again in the near future.
