My last orders went to a good home

Don't know where the time is going, today is already the 13th. Finished my last orders for some cute Santas, they went to a good home this morning. I do hope they will put a smile on the face whoever will receive them. I wanted to say thank you so very much to all my costumers again for your support and buying handmade. It is much appreciated. I love what I do and I do not have to wait for Christmas to come around again to make these items, I can do them all year long if anyone is interested. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

My Show Display

Here are all my goodies displayed for sale at my show last weekend, some of the items I had to put away,
because I did not have enough room to put it all out.

The making of a Santa Claus on a candlestick

Now that I have two Christmas Shows behind me and unfinished Santas sitting around, I got busy and finished them all. Have one more show to do. I made these all on candlesticks, something different. Now that I used them all up, I have to find more of them at the Goodwill or other Charity stores, sometimes you can find real cool candlesticks. My last show will be on 1 and 2 December at the Historic Overlook House in North Portland, which will be my 3rd year participating. Hard to believe it will be Thanksgiving this week, where has the time gone. Happy Turkey Day to all of you!

My first pattern ever! I am so proud!

I am done designing my first pattern, I am so happy how it worked out. Just something simple for Christmas, my 7" snowman head ornament. I worked on this for a while, I just finished it in time for my upcoming craft shows. Will soon have this in my Etsy shop. Now that I am finally jumped into the world of designing patterns, I will have more in the new year.

Happy Halloween everyone!

another finished doll

I took a Barbara Willis class a few years ago to learn how to sculpt a doll face, we than made a mold so I can use it over and over with paper mache to make a mask, which is than covered with fabric and painted. I use all kinds of eye and face make-up, colored pencils to color the face. The hair is made from ribbon and yarn. This doll can be hung on the wall.

I have been busy!

With 4 weeks to go to my first show, I have no spare time any longer. I just finished 3 of these little pots with christmas trees and small santas. The Santas have no legs so they are easier to put between the bucket and the tree. These would be a cute idea for somebody who doesn't have a lot of room or maybe somebody in a old folks home. One is with lights and the other two without.

Christmas anyone?

I finished my Reindeer and Santa creations, I am so happy, they took me forever. I had both reindeer done along time ago, just did the two Santas in the last few days. Beard, hair and eyebrows are all needle felted into the fabric, I love doing that, no glue here,it goes so simple and easy. I buy all my wooly fibers each year at a flock and fiber show, which is held in September, you get good deals, which you do not find in the stores. Now that I am all finished with these, moving along to other things.

So many things to do and not enough time

Where has the time gone, we are in October now. This year has just gone by so fast. We are still getting spoiled with beautiful weather, we had 82 degrees yesterday, today we dropped about 20 degrees, no sun yet,a lot of clouds. We could use some rain, it really hasn't rained here for months, everything is bone dry. The Christmas shows are just around the corner, I have 4 1/2 weeks left for my first show, I am panicking. I have hardly anything finished. This year everything just went crazy, all my plans to create so many different things went out the window, with too many important and unimportant things happening. Oh well, now I have to make the best off it and get cracking. Here are a few pictures of my snow ladies, last year I made 6 of them and I sold them all, this year I made 7. I made two reindeer which are propped on a stand, I finished the two little Santas which will sit on the back of them, will finish it up today.

Mother's Day and Birthday Celebrations

What a wonderful weekend I had. My birthday was on Mother's Day this year and I had a weekend full of celebrations. My husband and daughter surprised me with a birthday party on Saturday with friends and neighbors. This had been in the planning for several weeks and I really can say I did not suspect anything. My husband said this will be the last surprise party, because keeping secrets from me is like pulling teeth, because I am in a funny way kind of a 007 and know and find out anything. Too funny! And if this wasn't enough, they took me up to our beautiful Mt. Hood, Timberline Lodge for a outstanding Brunch. The weather was beautiful and so warm up there, not like last year, when we got up there we had a snow blizzard. The food was delicious. I bought myself a few weeks ago a new camera with a better Zoom, 30x and I took beautiful pictures up there zooming in on the top of Mt. Hood, on Mt. Jefferson and Lost Lake, which was still covered partial with ice and snow.
