Dahlias, the size of dinner plates
A few weeks ago we went to a local Dahlia Farm, which grow beautiful varieties in all shapes and sizes and colors. Some of them were as big as dinner plates. I don't think I have ever seen such big flowers before. It was a beautiful day for taking these pictures. I was lucky on some of the flowers, bumble bees were busy collecting pollen. I just love taking pictures of nature.

Sporting a purple cast
Well, life is not so good at the moment, or should I say it is good but there are some bumps in the road, yes I think I will like that. I have finally found out what ailment I have in my right hand/wrist since almost 2 years. First I was diagnosed with an overused wrist, now after my MRI, I was told I have a tendon which is not going back into the groove where it suppose to go, so we are trying it with a six week cast and if that fails, well surgery it will be. I do hope it doesn't come to this. Received my first application already for my christmas shows, so sad I cannot attend this year. This is a first for me ever, not to attend a show and sell my handmade goodies, hopefully they will take me back next year. It is very hard to give up crafting and sewing for now. It will get better, think positive.

Hard to believe, two posts in one day!
We had a fun filled Easter Weekend, first spending time up on the mountain for some fun and then Sunday at the Coast. Had a good time visiting relatives and taking tons of pictures of the surroundings. We are lucky to have someone in the family who has a house at the beach overlooking the ocean and the bay, just gorgeous day it was. Took pictures of sunbathing sea lions, humming birds just frolicking around my head and not being afraid when I took these pictures and then the best thing was a bold eagle sitting on a branch of a tree not far from the house. Love, love!
It has been a while or so!
Time has been flying these days, gosh it is already April, haven't blogged much lately but this will change. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We do live in beautiful Oregon and last Saturday we went up to Ski Bowl, which is part of Mt. Hood to see the Red Bull sponsored Schlittentag Fest. It was a gorgeous day, blue sky, outrageous sunshine, we did not mind of course and tons of snow. It was fun up there to see all the contestants with the home built contraptions, so called sleds. They had to push them up the hill and each of them had to go down the hill as fast as they can and have still one person at least in their home made devises when they went over the finish line. Several had a few crashes before they even made it to the finish line, you could guess that from the beginning on when you looked at the make it wasn't holding up. Some people did not believe in putting on a shirt or protecting their bare skin with something from the snow and ice, well they had to find out the hard way. But I guess they had all fun doing it. Looking forward to next years event.

Saying good bye is never easy
Yes, it is never easy saying good bye to a beloved pet. One of our kitties was ill for sometime now, she had Thyroid and other small issues what come with it and I had to give her all kinds of medicine each day. Lately it became really bad with her problems and I took her to the Vet last Saturday and had to make the decision to not let her suffer any longer and have her put down. Just terrible doing that. I do miss her, she loved to sleep with me every night, now nothing. She was just a tiny thing, she came to us about 6 1/2 years ago when our fence in our property was damaged by a huge wind storm, all of a sudden she appeared on my deck and never left.Rest in peace Miss Kittie, you have been a good girl.
